The goal of this 3-hour workshop is to give you enough info to decide if aquaponics is right for you, how to get started and where are the best sources for equipment, supplies and more detailed information.
What, Why, Where, When and How's of Aquaponics, including the different types of systems; pros and cons; plant and fish choices and advice based on our years of experience and local conditions.
Aquaponics is both gardening and aquaculture, and both can have challenges. Come learn how to take care of common pests and problems, as well as how to expand your growing season, crop choices and production.
Synergistic poly-cultures, seed starting, seed saving, harvesting, nutrient recycling, and "What to do with it now that I've grown it" will also be covered.
This 4-hour class will cover how to build the latest in hybrid aquaponics systems including using IBC 'tote' tanks; poly liner for tanks, media beds and raft troughs; several styles of wicking beds; and vertical systems. This is a fast paced class actually demonstrating what tools, materials and equipment works best and how to integrate these various systems together to build a super-productive aquaponics system.
It is highly recommended that you have previously taken our 3-hour Intro Class or have basic knowledge of Aquaponics to get the most out of this class as we don't have time to provide basic aquaponics info so that we can cover more system building options, tips and techniques.
